Hi I'm Jacob Mattson.  I am a 21 year old student studying Geology at Simon Fraser University in Vancouver, B.C.

Photography is a hobby of mine while I complete school, and play recreational sports, such as soccer and ball hockey.

​

I made this website to showcase my best photos, and for when people say to me "Oh you do photography, can I see some pictures?" I can direct them to this site.

​

I became interested in photography at a young age.  My parents would always take pictures and videos while growing up, so I have been around cameras all my life.  As I got older I started to make videos with my friends and experiment with different video and editing techniques.  This created the name "Jake Racer" as I made a stop motion movie of me racing around my house when I was 12.  This quickly became a nickname for me in high school.

In the later years of high school I became interested in creating backgrounds in Photoshop and editing video game montages with Sony Vegas.  Finally when I was 20 I saved up enough money to buy a DSLR camera, something I aspired to own since I was 12.

Now I take photos during my free time, and love capturing unique pictures.
